Wi-Fi Setup & Login Instructions for Hotspot Internet Access

Getting Connected

Set your Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) device to use the SSID: singledigits
Open your web browser. Your browser will automatically be redirected to the Hotspot login page.
Login with your assigned account information.
Upon successful authentication, you will be connected to the Internet and a window will appear allowing you to view your session information. A logout button will also be shown and can be used when finished with your session.

Trouble Connecting?

Setting the SSID on your Wi-Fi interface:

To ensure access at all Single Digits powered hotspot locations, you must configure your Wi-Fi 802.11b enabled laptop or PDA to access the Single Digits Hotspot network.

By setting the SSID (or wireless network identifier) in your wireless device to “singledigits” (case sensitive; without quotations), your device will associate to the Single Digits Hotspot network.

Instructions on how to set the SSID vary depending on the brand and model of wireless network card you are using. Please refer to your Wi-Fi network card documentation for specific instructions on how to configure your device. Some newer operating systems and Wi-Fi vendor software may automatically find and/or connect to a Single Digits Hotspot Network when within signal range.

In most cases, the SSID setting can be found within the network properties of the Wi-Fi interface itself.

Other Wi-Fi settings to check:

Verify that your Wi-Fi network interface is running in “infrastructure” mode

Verify that WEP encryption is disabled. (Authentication/Billing information is protected via SSL.)

Verify that your Wi-Fi interface card supports 802.11b. 802.11g cards should be compatible with 802.11b; 802.11a cards are not compatible.

Make sure your account username and password are entered correctly. Usernames and passwords are both case sensitive.
