Single Digits ranks second on Fastest-Growing Private Companies to Watch list by Business NH Magazine.

Single Digits, a leading provider of high speed data network deployments, management software, and technical support solutions; today announced that Business NH Magazine has selected the company as one of New Hampshire's Top 10 Private Companies to Watch for the second consecutive year. Single Digits' consistent sales growth during a difficult economic climate underscores the value proposition of a cost effective managed High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) solution in a number of key vertical markets including hospitality, health care and real estate. In addition to Business NH Magazine's accolades, Inc. Magazine recently ranked Single Digits one of the nation’s 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies, also for the second consecutive year.

Stephen Singlar, Single Digits' president and co-founder, highlights the reason for his company's notable growth, "Our HSIA offering enables our customers to streamline operational expenses while providing a high-quality service to customers and guests -- a valuable tool in this challenging economy. The recent addition of Gemini Telemanagement Systems (GTS) to our company has positioned us for even faster growth in 2009 and beyond.”

Single Digits Guest Internet Access solution is differentiated by the power of its Business Access Portal (BAP) software. In addition to providing a full suite of Authentication, Authorization & Accounting (AAA) tools, it combines network monitoring, usage reporting and trouble ticketing for an entire portfolio of properties via a single interface. The BAP software is housed in redundant data centers and allows our help desk staff to more quickly isolate technical issues and resolve support requests on the initial call. The intuitive reporting tools and full network visibility enable our support staff to partner with our clients to manage technical trends and stay ahead of their needs and under their budget.

"We are honored that for a second consecutive year, Business NH Magazine has recognized Single Digits as one of the state's Top 10 Private Companies to Watch," Singlar concluded.

Just Doing my Part for the Economy

September, 2008 - Feeling the economic blues or blahs? My advice for you is: turn off the radio, shut-off your high-def TV, throw your newspaper in the recycle bin, put your head down and get back to work. On the other hand, you can hang out with the fun people at the MIT Enterprise Forum of NH (by the way, the same NHHTC Committee that brought you the Speed Venture Summit!). Last Month we had one fantastic presentation by Single Digits and a fabulous interview with Paula Long, co-founder of EqualLogic, now Dell/EqualLogic.

GOVERNOR LYNCH ATTENDS CABLE CUTTING CEREMONY FOR NEW WI-FI ON MAIN STREET PROJECT

Pittsfield, NH Selects Single Digits´ Wi-Fi To Help Stimulate Downtown Business

Pittsfield, NH - September 25, 2008 - Governor John Lynch today attended a cable cutting ceremony celebrating town of Pittsfield´s new Wi-Fi (wireless, broadband) Internet service, now broadcasting throughout its downtown area.

The celebration was part of Pittsfield´s economic development plan to revitalize sagging tourism now that new Route 28 diverts north and south-bound traffic away from the town.

To help ensure an easy-to-use Internet experience with 24/7 service and support, Pittsfield turned to Manchester-based Single Digits.

"We are always looking for new ways to entice travelers to slow down and visit our town," said Ed Vien, chairman of Pittsfield´s economic development committee.

"The new Wi-Fi Internet service will help draw hikers, leaf-peepers, skiers and college students from nearby UNH, and help impact our local economy by bringing potential customers into town."

"As I think of what we can do for economic development, certainly the infrastructure is important. And the infrastructure in today´s world is much more than roads and bridges, it clearly includes broadband capacity - because that´s the way people communicate today, and that´s the way people do business today.

I hope this becomes a model for what happens in communities in all of New Hampshire," said Governor John Lynch.

Also known as hotspots, the ubiquitous Wi-Fi Internet service covers most of Pittsfield´s downtown business areas including restaurants, convenient stores, Dustin´s public park and the youth work shop. Pittsfield joins other successful New Hampshire-based, Single Digits´ Wi-Fi installations including the towns of Portsmouth and Peterborough.

Bob Goldstein, Single Digits´ president and CEO continues, "Municipalities across the country are struggling to find new ways to draw consumers out of the strip malls and into their towns. That´s why so many town planners are exploring wireless Internet access as a key differentiator to drive consumer awareness.

We understand the challenges municipalities face in deploying Wi-Fi infrastructures, and have built our solutions with customers like the Town of Pittsfield in mind - enabling them to deploy cost effective, secure, and scalable infrastructures that are easy to support."

About Pittsfield, NH

Pittsfield is a small rural community of about 4,500 residents, located in Merrimack County, nestled in the Suncook Valley. Pittsfield is known for its beautiful landscape, farm land, country setting and the nationally-known Hot Air Balloon Festival every August.

The top three employers in 2004 in the Town of Pittsfield were Globe Manufacturing, Pittsfield School District, and Pittsfield Weaving

Oak Bluffs (Martha´s Vinyard) considers wiring itself

The town of Oak Bluffs spends more than $100,000 each year to communicate. With phone lines, data lines, Internet access, alarm lines, police cruisers checking records, it gets expensive. But the town is building a private network that could carry many of those communications without using phone or cable company lines. The goal is to cut communications costs by half, in one or two years.

And, oh, by the way, if you live in Oak Bluffs, you get free Internet service as a bonus. In fact, you may already have it.

"Obviously we want to be friendly to our visitors," said information technology manager Travis Larsen. "We want people to stay, we want people to eat in the restaurants, but a big push for this, is we´re also using it to save on some of our recurring costs." Mr. Larsen estimates that once the town is wired, the upfront costs of equipment, labor, and maintenance for the new network will be offset by the reduced cost of communications in less than five years.

With little fanfare, the town rolled out a pilot program this past summer that broadcast a free Internet signal covering a small area at the foot of Circuit Avenue. The cost to implement the pilot was $5,000. They didn´t tell anyone it was there, but hundreds of people found it on their own, and now use it regularly. If all goes according to plan, the second phase of the project will be activated later this month, at a cost of $20,000. That signal will cover most of the downtown business district, roughly an arc from the waterfront, around Ocean Park, up to the old town library on Pennacook Avenue, and most of the Martha´s Vineyard Camp-Meeting Association grounds. Though the later phases will take considerably more time, the town hopes to eventually provide free Internet service to nearly all of its residents.

Wi-Fi system linking downtown area soon to be completed

PORTSMOUTH - The project aimed at supplying Wi-Fi access to the entire downtown area has come a long way since an access point was established on the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce visitor kiosk in Market Square just four years ago.

With four access points in place now, the system now serves the area bounded by Maplewood Avenue, Deer, Hanover and Ceres streets in the city´s North End; a large portion of the South Mill Pond area in the South End; and parts of State, Court and Pleasant streets in the downtown area. Replacement of the old access point in Market Square will mark the end of Phase I of the project and effectively tie most of the inner city together, said Alan Brady of the Portsmouth information technology department.

4,100 U.S. TROOPS IN IRAQ EMAIL LOVED ONES FOR FREE ON JULY

Single Digits and Arkel International Serve Up Free Broadband Services from the CamoCafé

Manchester, NH - August 4, 2008 - To honor U.S. troops based in Iraq, U.S.-based Single Digits and Arkel International, removed broadband access fees at each CamoCafé on July 4th. Eager troops took advantage of the free service and stormed the café ´s 80 desktop PCs and wireless connectivity to communicate with friends and family - doubling normal usage to 4,100 log-ins.

Announced on July 2nd (see Single Digits´ news release, Troops In Iraq E-Mail Loved Ones For Free On The 4th Of July), Single Digits and Arkel waived the hourly broadband fee for 15,000 U.S. troops. The Internet café ;s were introduced as a form of "entertainment" for the troops during their off-duty hours. For a low hourly or monthly fee, service members may use the café ´s PCs or utilize their personal laptops to access broadband services such as e-mails, sending photos, Internet surfing, etc.

"We´re elated that more than 4,000 of our U.S. troops based in Iraq used the free wireless access to connect with family and loved ones around the world on such a celebratory day as July 4th," said Bob Goldstein, founder and CEO, Single Digits.

Single Digits provides the cafés with broadband networking equipment, 24/7 connectivity support, hotspot management and authentication solutions to facilitate web-based communications from U.S. troops in Iraq. Arkel underwrites the cost of each Internet café, billed at over half a million dollars per café , with no U.S. government funds used.

Troops in Iraq receive free Internet access for Independence Day

Two Internet cafés serving about 15,000 U.S. troops stationed in Iraq are offering free Internet service for the 4th of July holiday, which starts for them at 5 p.m. EDT/2 p.m. PDT.

Arkel International of Baton Rouge, La. - a logistics, construction and support contractor operating in Iraq - established the CamoCafé s about a year ago. They have 80 desktop PC kiosks and support wireless access for laptop PCs. Single Digits Inc. of Manchester, N.H., provides infrastructure and technical services.

"We are honored to provide Internet connectivity to foster Web-based communications between our troops and their loved ones half-way around the world," said Steve Hartsuff, Arkel´s vice president of Iraq operations.

Troops can use the connections for videoconferencing, e-mail, Web access or any other Internet service.

Single Digits provides wireless access in the cafés via a 6 megabits/sec satellite link, along with authentication, accounting, remote monitoring, security and around-the-clock support services. The company also designed, configured and supported installation of the equipment. Hardware is from Proxim Wireless Corp., of Milpitas, Calif.

"We get about 2,000 log-ins a day," said Bob Goldstein, chief executive officer of Single Digits. Most are from privately owned laptop PCs via wireless access, although kiosk use turns over every three or four hours.

The cafés also provide coffee, snacks and other goods. There are two operating now, and several more are under construction. Fees for Internet use are in the neighborhood of $5 an hour or less than $100 for a monthly subscription. Users can sign up with a credit card and authenticate their identities with a user name and password, or they can pay at the café for an access code. For the holiday weekend, the system will switch to a click-to-connect option with no authentication required for signing on.

"We expect it will double the usage for the day," Goldstein said. Although most troops interested in using the Internet are probably already customers, many of them limit their online hours to save money. With free access, "we expect some more will come out of the woodwork."

Goldstein said the access points are capable of supporting thousands of laptop PCs using their own wireless interface cards.

Single Digits and Arkel International Serve Up Free Broadband Access From CamoCafé

Manchester, NH - July 2, 2008 - As a gesture to honor troops in Iraq for protecting the liberties of individuals around the globe, U.S.-based Single Digits and Arkel International, will offer free Internet communications on July 4th, via Arkel´s Camocafés located at U.S. military bases in Iraq. The Internet cafés provide more than 80 desktop PCs and unlimited wireless laptop connectivity to more than 15,000 U.S. troops.

Steve Hartsuff, VP and General Manager of International Operations for Arkel International, initiated the Internet café idea as a form of "entertainment" for the troops during their off-duty hours. For a low hourly or monthly fee, service members may use the café´s PCs or utilize their personal laptops to access broadband services such as e-mails, sending photos, Internet surfing, etc.

To honor the troops who carry on the tradition of protecting the United States´ independence, all broadband access fees at the cafes will be waived on July 4th. Hartsuff underscores Arkel´s decision, "More than ever, today´s troops remain the backbone of liberty and carry on the proud tradition of freedom set forth by our forefathers. We are honored to provide Internet connectivity to foster web-based communications between our troops and their loved ones half way around the world."

Single Digits, located in Manchester, NH, is providing the cafés with broadband networking equipment and 24/7 support. Via their turnkey software, troops experience utility-like, broadband connectivity regardless of access device. Bob Goldstein, Single Digits´ Co-Founder and CEO, elaborates on the café and free Internet services on July 4th, "We are proud that our hotspot management and authentication solutions have been selected to facilitate web-based communications from U.S. troops in Iraq. It is our hope that this token of appreciation will entice every service person stationed near a café to take advantage of this free offering and reach out to loved ones - around the world - on July 4th."

Arkel underwrites the cost of each Internet café, billed at over half a million dollars per café, with no U.S. government funds used.

"We decided on Single Digits´ solution to deliver the Internet access after reviewing a number of companies. We needed a company that could provide Internet access and managed services in a combat zone, offer broadband content management, online billing and reporting, and accounts processing capabilities," added Hartsuff. "Single Digits offered the best solutions with its next generation Business Access Portal hosted solution combined with 24/7 live technical service and support - it enabled a quick and efficient rollout coupled with the unique responsiveness requirements we have in a combat zone deployment."
